3 Luana Savings Bankers Earn Certificate From the Iowa School of Banking - Hanson Named Top Finisher

Luana Savings Bank’s Geordan Hanson and Blake Winter of the Luana, IA Headquarters and Nate Reising of the Polk City, IA Branch, successfully completed the 2024 Iowa School of Banking held June 8-13, 2025 at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines. 

Furthermore, Hanson achieved the honorable recognition of Top Finisher amid 57 bankers from across the State, finishing with the top combination of scores from testing, an interim project, and group banking simulation. Geordan has been awarded a scholarship to continue on to the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. 

The Iowa School of Banking, a one-week, two-year school, offered by the Iowa Bankers Association, provides a challenging, educational experience in addition to peer networking.  The challenging, interactive curriculum addresses the functions of banking departments and financial management and the business of banking.  Practical experience is gained through the use of a computer simulation, lectures, case studies and discussion. The school faculty includes active bankers, consultants and academicians, all recognized experts in their fields. 

About the Graduates:

Geordan Hanson, Agricultural Loan Officer, has been with Luana 8 years. Blake Winter, Residential Loan Officer, has been with Luana 4 years. Nate Reising, Commercial Loan Officer, has been with Luana nearly 10 years. All have exceled in their respective roles throughout their tenure with the bank, displaying ever-increasing expertise, professionalism, and customer care.
