Luana Savings Bank Donates Computer Equipment to MFL MarMac School District
Luana Savings Bank recently donated $2,000 worth of computer equipment to MFL MarMac school district, and Dr. Smith & Bulldog Child Care & Learning Centers, including 34” curved widescreen displays and Dell graphics processing workstations. The equipment was originally purchased for $5,900, recently replaced, refurbished specifically for the school and centers, and has many more years of life left.
The school’s IT budget is stretched more than ever with Apple tablets dedicated to each elementary student, and Apple laptops to each middle school and high school student. Besides students, teachers and administrative staff also need computers and may not be able to function strictly with Apple products, according to MFL MarMac’s manager of IT, Ryan Martindale. “That’s where Luana Savings Bank steps in, supplying non-Apple equipment specifically for staff and applications requiring Microsoft Windows”.
The story is similar at both Dr. Smith and Bulldog Child Care & Learning Centers. Demand for early-childhood services is greater than ever, while budgets are also more strained than ever. MFL MarMac had graciously provided computers to both Centers previously which Luana Savings Bank has now helped upgrade.
Luana Savings Bank proactively replaces computer equipment before it reaches end-of-life to ensure the bank’s own employees and customers have the best experience possible. This means, however, there are typically many more good years of life left in equipment. Luana Savings Bank is also cognizant of energy usage when selecting new equipment, prioritizing performance with the least power consumption, which further benefits recipients of future donations. Any computer equipment that does reach end-of-life and not capable of being donated is always responsibly recycled.
To-date in 2025, Luana Savings Bank has donated nearly $14,000 worth of exceptionally refurbished computer equipment to 12 unique non-profits including schools, police departments, libraries, and charitable organizations, with actual replacement value exceeding $41,000. Since 2012, the replacement value of IT donations has eclipsed $334,000!
Luana Savings Bank is proud to provide solutions to real problems throughout the local communities in which the bank operates. From donations to helping first-time homebuyers realize home ownership, Luana Savings Bank takes pride in our deep community roots. Visit a branch to discover a different banking experience – smiling faces, a light atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, all while offering the best rates around. If you are associated with a non-profit organization, please let us know so we can include them when future equipment becomes available for donation.
