Luana Savings Bank Announces Appointment of Sarah Schultz Freilinger as President and Shane Greenleaf as CEO

Luana Savings Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Schultz Freilinger as President and Shane Greenleaf as Chief Executive Officer. Sarah will continue to office out of the bank’s headquarters in Luana, IA and Shane will continue to office out of the Clive, IA branch.

Luana Savings Bank and its Board of Directors would like to thank David Larson for his leadership as President & CEO over the past year. David joined the bank in January 2025, working with the existing executive and management team to position the bank for its next phase of continued growth, innovation, and competitiveness. The bank appreciates David’s accomplishments and his role in preparation for this planned executive transition.

Sarah Schultz Freilinger started at Luana Savings Bank in early 2013 and has led and/or contributed to areas of the bank including executive and Board of Directors administration, human resources, marketing, and community involvement. Sarah grew up in Northeast Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa, before returning to her hometown area where Luana Savings Bank was founded. Sarah is a 3rd generation member of the bank’s local, family-ownership group who have been dedicated to the success of Luana Savings Bank, its team, and the communities it serves since the 1980s.

Shane Greenleaf joined Luana Savings Bank in October 2024 as the bank’s Executive Vice President and member of the bank’s Board of Directors. Shane is an Iowa native and grew up in Sioux City. He attended University of Northern Iowa, has lived in the Des Moines area since 2003, and has over 25 years of banking and financial services experience. Prior to joining Luana Savings Bank, Shane worked at Bankers’ Bank as a Senior Vice President and SBA Director, Commercial Lending, since 2016. There he led the Iowa market in commercial and correspondent banking and managed SBA loan services throughout a 6-state region.

Both Sarah and Shane’s transition into their respective roles have been planned over the past year, ensuring continuity in leadership, decision-making, and culture. Both bring deep institutional knowledge, strong relationships, and a shared vision for the future.
